imagination station

encountered through my co-curator, Sarah Maacha, I inherited Imagination Station not as a fixed concept, but as an invitation. a shared “delulu” space spun from joy, longing, and speculative play. a deliberate act of invention, a rehearsal for worlds not yet built. what started as a game of possibility—part dreaming, part refusal—offered its own kind of logic: playful, political, and deeply felt. from my gaze, it becomes a methodology—a soft framework for dreaming otherwise, for thinking and creating beyond linear time, normative constraints, and inherited futures. it is a space where the intimate and the absurd coexist, where vision does not demand resolution but welcomes contradiction, excess, and desire.

in this station, memory is kinetic. a photograph becomes a portal. a fleeting detail, a map. the past collides with the present and imagined futures leak into both. Imagination Station embraces delusion not as denial, but as method—as creative defiance. it is a politics of joy, of refusal, of friendship as a site of knowing. it is survival by way of dreaming.

What do we carry from places our feet have never touched?

What stirs when memory slips its tether— when it roams, unbound?

Can intimacy survive the frame, refuse capture, and still leave a trace?

How do you archive a dream— and does it change once named?

Can the imagined become a way home?

Can fantasy be the most faithful return?
