curator’s note
an(other) is a collective of three interwoven projects, each drawing you into a third space—an intimate exploration of “home” shaped by memory, presence, and absence. Through image, sound, and embodied interaction, visitors are invited to traverse worlds unbound by time or geography. Presented on April 26th, 2025, this collective included Humsafar, an interactive phone installation that encouraged active participation and reflection on distance, class, and care. By recording personal messages, visitors wove their voices into a living narrative, enriching an evolving dialogue about relationality across physical, social, and emotional borders.

sometimes distance measures itself in oceans or passports; other times, it hides in the hush between two people in the same room. this phone serves as a threshold—an unmarked border between presence and absence, between that which we name “here” and all that waits “elsewhere.”
